About Donnie Whitaker

Originally from Charleston, Donnie grew up in North Carolina. In 2000, after graduating from North Carolina State University, he chose to once again make Charleston his home. For three years he worked as a tennis professional at Wild Dunes Resort. While there he became interested in coastal property, which led him to what he is doing now, real estate sales with Dunes Properties of Charleston. Donnie truly believes he could not have picked a better place to work and live. In his spare time, he enjoys boating, tennis, golf, walking on the beach, and simply living the low country lifestyle.

The Area

What makes this area so great, and in my opinion separates it from anywhere else, is the fact you can enjoy the beach all day, and be with in a short drive to historical downtown Charleston. You will find that each part of the area has it's own unique appeal. Whether its golfing in resorts like Wild Dunes , Kiawah, and Seabrook, enjoying your day on the Isle of Palms, or living the layed back lifestyle of Sullivan's Island or Folly Beach, there is something for everyone. Charleston is consistently voted as one of the best places in the country for shopping and dining, and is also considered to have some of the nations friendliest people. 

Along with the excellent restaurants and world class shopping, Charleston plays host to many great local events like: the Family Circle Cup, the Ginn Tribute hosted by Annika, the Cooper River Bridge Run, and the many festivals held at Boone Hall Plantation. Charleston is also is home of the southeast premier art festival Spoleto.

If it's recreation you are looking for, look no further. Charleston is proud to be the location of some of the nations most prestigious golf courses and top tennis facilities. If you are more of an explorer, you might want to try kayaking through the marsh creeks or deep sea fishing off the Charleston Coast.
